Dr Ivana Erac

After obtaining her medical degree from the University of Otago (New Zealand) in 2000, Dr Ivana Erac has worked her way to becoming a senior clinical practitioner in Melbourne, Australia.
Dr Ivana Erac gained experience working as a junior doctor at The Royal Brisbane Hospital, The Monash Medical Center and The Austin Hospital. Her anaesthesia speciality training was undertaken at the Austin Hospital, Mercy Hospital for Women, and the Royal Melbourne Hospital. She completed her anaesthesia training and became a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2010.
Since 2010 Dr Ivana Erac has held the position as a VMO at the Austin Hospital providing elective and emergency care to patients undergoing a wide range of surgical procedures. In addition to her clinical work, she is also involved in teaching anaesthesia trainees. Her areas of interest are anaesthesia for neurosurgery and anaesthesia for head and neck surgery.
Dr Ivana Erac regularly engages in a diverse range of anaesthetic practices, including neurosurgery, spinal surgery, ENT, upper GI, upper limb orthopaedic surgery, endoscopy, and urology.
In her view, being a patient and having surgery can be a difficult and stressful time. Patient concerns are her highest priority. Dr Ivana Erac is always focused on ensuring patient safety and comfort
